CERNOBBIO, September 7 (Reuters) – The Italian government budget can be cut 20 billion, but this should be a period which extends beyond 2015
To say it is the Commissioner for the spending review Carlo Cottarelli.
“You can do it,” said the objective of cuts that place is the President of the Council, Matteo Renzi, but added: “We need to go beyond, look beyond 2015 In this context, the 1000 days are long fair. “
In a recent interview with the President of the Council Matteo Renzi has indicated 20 billion in cuts feasible, with an implicit time reference to 2015.
Cottarelli said that the target of 20 billion in cuts is achievable, “given that it starts from a base of primary expenditure of 700 billion.”
The commissioner then asked that the last phase of the spending review “are provided for monitoring and sanctions” for those who do not respect the timing with respect to implementing measures. “There are too many laws that are the real bottlenecks.”
