TimVision new Android TV decoder

What Italy is in the service of video content via the Internet (what is technically called VOD, video on demand, or SVOD Subscription video on demand) with multiple users? In all probability it is not Netflix Now or TV Sky and even Infinity Mediaset . Top of the list is rather TIMvision Tim . Active users, those who actually use the service (thus not those merely registered but inactive), are more than 700,000 as stated by Daniela Biscarini (responsible for multimedia entertainment & amp; consumer digital services Tim) during a meeting with the press in Milan. We can speak of “alleged” first in the industry saw that competitors do not disclose when official numbers. According to Tim, the content on the platform consumption has exploded: in the first six months of 2016 have seen many many videos throughout 2015, with increases to 3 digits for the cinema (+ 164%), series (+ 189%) and content children (+ 185%). Beyond the numbers on the service the occasion was the debut of the new officially TIMvision decoder.

An object quite interesting because it works with Android TV, supports 4K, the HEVC codec (H.265) and Dolby. It also is compatible with the Google Cast, substituting therefore a Chromecasts stick and has internal memory (8 GB) expandable with micro SD cards. BUT the aspects that most stand out are two. The first is the remote control with support for voice search. The second unique feature of this type of devices, is the support to the digital terrestrial DVB-T2. Tested shortly after the Milan press conference, the new decoder TIMvision has been very responsive and easy to use thanks to well-designed interface. With a button you switch to TIMvision homepage, while another will skip to the Play Store that can install other apps compatible with Android TV. So even other VOD / SVOD services. Another button activates the microphone for voice search.
