This afternoon Italians internet users have had to deal with a total of connecting to the Internet from a fixed network block. The problem has affected a large number of users, to the point of Twitter hashtags are several parties like #FacebookDown and #InternetDown, quickly entered the Italian trending topic.
At first sight it seemed that the problem was due to a down however the disruption of Facebook covers more generally browsing the web .
Telecom confirmed to be aware of the situation, apologizing to the many users who have poured on the Twitter profile of the company to ask questions and confirming in fact the problem.

For now, however, are not clear, the causes that led down to the connections. Telecom has in fact limited to apologize and to explain that “there is an ongoing outage that impacts on navigation on international sites.”
The company goes on to explain that operators are working to solve the problem. The editors of Tom’s Hardware has contacted Telecom and is waiting for an official communication . We will update the news as soon as we will have more details.

Update : We just received the official response of Telecom, which we present in full. “TIM wishes to inform that the momentary disruption (about 1 hour, Ed), which led to a partial limitation of the fixed and mobile international Internet traffic, has been solved in an hour. The network connectivity service is now running smoothly and up has been restored thanks to the timely intervention of technicians. the company states that the fault was recorded due to instability of some of the network nodes to the international route. “
