To celebrate the best content available on the Play Store, Google announced the Google Play Awards, a group of five candidates applications or games in a total of 10 categories to be awarded. The name of these awards would be ‘ Oscandroid ‘.
The nominees were selected by a “group of experts” of the Google Play team, based on criteria such as quality app, innovation, the time spent by the publication or availability of a major recent update for the introduction of new features.

Standout Indie is a category that rewards developers recently entered the Play Store, as above, but it applies only to games and focuses in judging artistic design and innovative gameplay. To contend for the prize in this category are: Alphabear, Alto’s Adventure, Fast Like A Fox, Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector, Prune.
Best Families App sees contend for the prize best for families applications, ones that encourage more young people to be creative users. To contend for the prize in this category are: Card Wars – Adventure Time, LEGO Jurassic World, My Very Hungry Caterpillar, Thinkrolls 2, Toca Nature.
The award Best Use of Material Design is used to judge the app from the aesthetic point of view, so those who have embraced the best design ‘Material’ introduced by Google in Android style from version 5.0 lollipop. To contend for the prize in this category are: Bring !, Robinhood, The fabluous, Todoist, Vevo.
The award Best Use of Google Play Game Services will go to the game that is better use of services offered by Play Game services for multiplayer features between smartphone and PC. The award Early Adopter Award need to reward the best app that takes advantage of emerging technology. To contend for the prize in this category are: Glide, Mechanic Escape, Minecraft: Story Mode, World Around Me, Zumper.
Go Global is a category that rewards the application that It obtained the largest worldwide popularity. The nominees for this category are: Dragon Ball Z Battle Dokkan, Freeletics Bodyweight, Memrise, Musixmatch, Pokemon Mobile Shuffle.
Most Innovative is a category that rewards app more ‘innovative . The nominees for this category are: Fast like a Fox, NYT VR, SmartNews, The Fabulous, this war of mine.
A little ‘as with the most Oscar’ prize is to Best Picture, to Google Play awards are the most ‘sought-after prize, even more prizes’ areas because Google has chosen well to distinguish the two categories are: Best App and Best Game.
