Genoa – the digital identities , unique pin and universal codes to access from the Internet to services of the public administration has been discussed for years. Now, though, it seems that the wait is over . From March 15 will operate spid , which stands for “digital identity public system”. In fact it is a system that is based on a “user name” and “password” through which, from home, taxpayers will be able to access numerous services offered available by the government (in the future also by private companies).

As announced yesterday by Marianna Madia , Minister of Public , starting from mid-March will be already 300 ‘services to which you can access by spid “but by June will be added 300. Ambitious also targets: six million identity this year and then to reach 10 million by 2017.

the goal of the spid is to create a digital picture frame that allow you to request documents and certificates but also to pay taxes and stamp duties. Depending on the services you use and the data you require, there are three different levels of security. Specifically, there are three levels of confidentiality. For the base, just enough username and password.

To use services provided by medium strength, however, and the user name and password you add another password “throwaway” elaborated at the time of the transaction. For the third level of security, reserved for professionals, need a smart card that can read cards with a chip.

How do you get

There are three operators, the Agency accredited for digital Italy, which provide new digital identity. Those interested will have to apply for the spid to one of the following companies: Tim, Italian Post and Infocert. A little ‘complicated, at least for the moment, the procedure for obtaining the unique pin. It should indeed give his name, surname, date and place of birth, identity card, telephone, email address and home (tax code or VAT number, registered office and company name if company).

Then you pass through the traditional channel verification (document and compile module performance) or electronically (electronic identity card or a digital signature). For the first two years, the service will be free. However, those who already have a pin used for some services, such as the INPS and the Inland Revenue, will request their conversion into spid.

What services

With the introduction of the spid will be possible, among other things, pay the domestic worker, enroll the child daycare center, weld IMU, Tasi and the Tari, change residence, withdraw the medical reports, book tours and redeem graduation. For now they are connected to the Inland Revenue System, INPS and INAIL. Soon they add three towns (Florence, Venice, Lecce) and by June will be operating seven regions, including the Liguria (Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Piedmont and Umbria).
