Mission to Mars Italian – Vanity Fair.it

Europe is Mars and so much a part of this mission speaks Italian. Part Monday, March 14 , in Italian the morning, from the base of Baikonur , in Kazakhstan, the mission ExoMars . The goal is to find out if the red planet has seen in the past forms of life and what is home now.

Mission
The mission name is ExoMars and is a collaboration between the ‘ europe space agency and Russian. The Russian Proton M rocket will bring the satellite into the orbit of Mars called Tgo (Trace Gas Orbiter) and the descent module dedicated Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli.

EXOMARS
the name is related to the purpose of the mission: to seek evidence of exobiology, English exobiology, the possible existence of life outside of Earth. In this case on Mars.

WHEN
The launch is scheduled for 10:31 Italian on Monday now March 14, from the base of Baikonur, in Kazakhstan. If there are problems the launch window remains open until 25 March.

LIVE
The launch can be followed live on the web through the site of the ‘ European Space Agency . The link opens an hour before launch, then at 9 and 30 for Italy. During the rest of the morning and in the afternoon there will be continuous aggioramenti mission status until the acquisition of the first standby signal to the 22 and 45. There is a countdown on the site of ‘ Italian Space Agency . Live until noon even on Rainews24. At the time of the launch will be stations of Kenya, Spain, French Guiana to maintain contact. Will touch during the trip to Argentina and Australia.

SOCIAL
The official twitter account is @ESA_ExoMars . ASI chooses the hashtag #Italiavasumarte . ESA has a Facebook page and an instagram account. There are videos on youtube.

EXPECTED ARRIVAL
If all goes well in October . The path between the Earth and the orbit of Mars is 496 million kilometers. TGO will launch the Schiaparelli module that will land on Mars three days later.

FORM SCHIAPPARELLI
In the first part of the mission the Trace Gas Orbiter, a French guide, will carry out a study the gases present in the Martian atmosphere and any biological or geological processes. The module drop , Schiaparelli, Italian leadership in containing the Dreams weather station and other instruments, will land on Mars in October and also will test the landing technologies for future missions to the planet. Has internal batteries that should last a few days.

WHO IS SCHIAPPARELLI?
Giovanni Schiaparelli was the Italian astronomer, author of the first map of the Martian surface. It was the second half of the nineteenth century. It was he who identified what appeared channels.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES
At launch the total weight is 4332 kg included 112 scientific instruments and 600 of Schiaparelli form. The Trace Gas Orbiter is 3.5 m x 2 m x 2 m with solar panels by 17 meters and a half. She will do an elliptical orbit and to make a complete tour will take four Martian days. The distance will go from 300 to 96 thousand kilometers from the planet’s surface. Between January and November 2017 it will orbit 400 kilometers from the planet.

SECOND MISSION
In 2018 The second phase includes a new journey to Mars and the release on the planet of a rover equipped with a drill, this flag, which will pierce the Martian soil up to two meters deep in search for traces of life. A stationary module will transport Russian descent module on Mars, German-led. The Russian-surface platform, released the rover will investigate your surroundings.

TECHNOLOGY ITALIAN
Italy, through the Italian Space Agency, is the main supporter of the double mission with 40% of total investment. Italian is also the direct responsibility of the development of the 2016 ExoMars descent module, the drill of two meters that will pierce the Martian soil for taking samples and the control center from which the rover will be driven.
