On 21 March 2016, during the event “ Let us loop you in “, Apple unveiled the new addition to the family of smartphones targati bitten apple. It is iPhone SE , a return to four inches, but with the great power of modernity. The device, in fact, shares many of the features the flagship company: iPhone 6S. How easy to see, of course, this device will not be the principal representative of the iPhone line of 2016: iPhone 7, in fact, is still scheduled for next autumn.

the first availability of iPhone SE has been set for the March 31, 2016 , for a purchase online or in the physical Apple Store in some countries of the world, from the United States. In Italy, the pre-order phase opens on 29 of the same month, for a delivery in the following weeks. Apple formally declares that the new iPhone will be available in Italy “from the beginning of April”, without further details.
Two affordable models, depending on the storage configurations. The colors available are the classic line of the iPhone, or silver, gray and gold sidereal, with the addition of the new pink gold. For Italy, the price list , except for eventual promotions with telephone carriers, and comprises:
- iPhone SE 16 GB : EUR 509;
- iPhone SE 64 GB : 609 €.
in the US, however, the same configurations correspond to equal prices respectively 399 and $ 499.

Why Apple decided to invest again on 4 inch , whose production had stopped at iPhone 5S, despite the huge success of the 4.7 and 5.5 of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S? The reasons were explained by Apple during the keynote presentation and as easy to understand, are intended to satisfy a still largely nourished slice of the market.
In the course of 2015, in fact, the Cupertino company has sold well 30 million iPhone 4-inch , despite the incredible popularity of devices with brighter screens. Of these, many buyers have represented new customers for Apple, both among those who have never owned a smartphone, between Switcher from other Mobile operating systems. In addition, this diagonal configuration also appears to be very welcome in Asian markets such as China. Apple, however, did not want to propose an entry level device with limited hardware capabilities, but that it provided performance almost comparable to those of the group’s flagship, from iPhone 6S.

The design iPhone SE is as easy to guess, an evolution from the previous iPhone 5S, which reminds many of the forms. The company has in fact stated that he wanted to resume aesthetics historically very successful, perfecting it in every detail, to create a device that was not only powerful, but also light and compact. Perfect for those who like to use the smartphone with one hand, reaching every corner of the screen only with your thumb.
The body, in Aluminum microsabbiato , is available in the colors silver, gray sidereal, gold and rose gold. Very similar to the iPhone 5S forms, presents a more elegant thanks to the corners with a matte smoothing, as well as with the Steel logo in colors coordinated with the body. This leaves the inserts made of glass, the round side buttons for volume, the speakers on the device side by side down the Lightning connector, and, of course, also to the headphone jack 3.5 mm.
Hardware Features

of particular interest are the hardware features of the new iPhone SE, because modeled largely those of gettonato iPhone 6S. With this device, in fact, Apple wanted to create the four-inch smartphone more powerful than ever : compact, but with very high performance.
It starts from the display, a Retina classic 4 inches, with resolution 1136 × 640 pixels to 326 ppi. The screen, as well as to have an oleophobic layer, is also fully compatible with the RGB standard, to provide a yield of very high color. The backlight also doubles as a Flash Retina for the self-timer mode with the front camera, until you have a three times higher brightness than standard during use.
the heart of the iPhone button SE is determined by a chipset family A9 , the same installed in the iPhone 6S, full also of the M9 motion coprocessor. This combination allows to exploit, even on this device, the mode “Hey Siri” always active, even in the absence of a mains connection. That’s not all though, as the same iPhone 6S processor delivers the same performance, both in terms of the calculation processing graphics. iPhone SE, as well, is 2 times faster than the iPhone 5S on the front of the CPU tasks and three of those GPU. The device, also sees the introduction of an NFC chip for the Apple Pay operations, as well as for the detection of fingerprints of the classic Touch ID.
Large improvements, in addition, also as regards the rear camera . iPhone SE, in fact, mount the same vein from 12 megapixel introduced with iPhone 6S, particularly sensitive to low light conditions, as well as highly efficient in color rendering. The goal, completed by a 5-lens body, sees an opening f 2/2, so the opportunity to benefit from an automatic HDR and self-Detection. The same camera also can be used for the movie recording up to 4K , with digital stabilization for 1080p and 720p. The front optics, however, is a classic FaceTime camera of 1.2 megapixels, with aperture f 2/4, video recording up to 720p, automatic exposure control and, as already mentioned, Retina Flash integrated into the screen. How iPhone 6S, the new smartphone is compatible with Live Photos introduced in the fall of 2015.
In terms of Connectivity , the iPhone SE capacities seem quite comparable to those iPhone 6S. The device has the technically universal compatibility with LTE networks around the world, as well as a WiFi 802.11ac chip mode, to really instant transfers. Comes complete with the availability of Bluetooth as a standard 4.2.
Software equipment

SE iPhone uses iOS 9, with a distribution with iOS 9.3 pre-installed. This version of the mobile operating system, whose download was made available in conjunction with the presentation of the smartphone, implementing many new features for fans of the bitten apple. Among them, stands out the Night Shift , to better use their device in the evening, with darker interface to tire the view to a minimum. But also improved management of notes, a multi-user access for iPad, new for News and much more. The new iPhone SE, as already mentioned, will arrive in stores with iOS 9.3 preloaded. The operating system is however already available over the air on any compatible device, or, more simply, by connecting the device to your computer with iTunes.
