After the success of the last edition of the event, returns this year, for its 4th Edition , Maker Faire Rome : 14 to 16 October 2016 scheduled for the most ‘largest European exhibition of innovation promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, organized by its special Asset Company Room, and curated by Massimo Banzi, co-founder of Arduino along with Richard Moon, Digital Champion Italian.
Fair of Rome , for three days, will turn into a real innovation park with 6 pavilions at the complete disposal of the makers and visitors for a total of over 100 thousand square meters . Of these, 7,000 square meters will be all dedicated to conferences, seminars and workshops.
Home , re-use , drones and robots , 3D printing , digital manufacturing , industry 4.0 , IoT – Internet of things, mobility, food & amp; nutrition, fashion, music are just some of the themes that Maker Faire Rome aspires to know and experience to the public in the edition of 2016.
New this year is “ Waiting for Maker Faire Rome “or a series of approaching events at the fair to be held in Italy and in Europe. Among them, the most important, is the European Maker Week, an entire week of events makers, from 30 May to 5 June, the digital manufacturing, simultaneously across Europe. Two main objectives: to spread the culture makers by encouraging education for creativity and innovation, and create a virtuous circle between local authorities, the media and the main actors that constitute and animate, at local and European level, the world of the makers.
the program also includes “ the big Hack “, the biggest hackathon Italian dedicated to innovation and the Internet of Things (IoT): from 8 to 9 October, a programming marathon in which participants are challenged to develop applications and projects on the different challenge that will range from safety, mobility to the food.

The last edition, held in the University City University of Rome, always in October for three days, it was organized in 5 major themes (People & amp; Life – Home, Cities & amp; Environment – Next Tech – Makers & amp; Culture – Learning by doing) and saw the 600-stand exhibition more than 700 inventions selected from around the world, and hundreds of workshops and seminars with speakers most ‘important in the industry.

By 31 March, makers, artists, visionaries can submit ideas that will be presented in the exhibition area of the Fair, thus building Maker Faire Rome not only in content but also in its most important attractions.
Since March 16 last year and until may 20 next – in collaboration with the Ministry of education – is open the “ Call 4 schools ” addressed to schools of a second national rank and belonging to EU countries. They will be selected 55 projects that will be among the most innovative hosted during Maker Faire Rome within an area dedicated to schools. in 2015, 110 institutions participated in the call and were chosen 30.
Back again call the “ 4 Makers “that will open on April 18 and closes on 15 June. Innovators from around the world will have time and opportunity to prepare and submit their creations. A committee will evaluate and select the best projects received which will then be entitled to a special free space to exhibit their inventions. New this year is the ROME Prize or an award of 100 thousand Euros will be awarded to the best European maker project with high social impact.
