Twitter launches alarm about possible hacker (Ft) – Italian Stock Exchange

(Il Sole 24 Ore Thomson Financial) – New York, December 14 – For the first time Twitter, which has stepped up checks on possible security breaches, has warned against a possible hacker attack supported by an unnamed State . The social network has sent an e-mail to users potentially involved, explaining that their information, such as phone numbers, email addresses and IP, have been stolen or could be subject to tampering. As reported by the Financial Times, the warning highlights growing concern about the threat hackers “sponsored” by foreign governments, in a year when the violations were numerous, even at high levels. Consider for example the 22 million profiles violated the department for American national security. Other companies ‘Silicon Valley, such as Google and Facebook, have already’ warning systems that alert users if they were subject to hacker attacks. Hackers have been supported by the most ‘sophisticated and better equipped. They often use the cyber espionage or to steal property ‘intellectuals. One of the most ‘well-known groups like this and’ the Syrian Electronic Army, loyal to Syrian President Bashar al Assad, and that in the past has targeted Skype and sites of different media.
