Climate: July hottest month ever Beat the previous record of 1998 – TGCOM

– July was globally the warmest month since 1880, with 0.81 degrees higher than the average of the twentieth century. E ‘as shown by the NOAA, the US federal agency for meteorology. Beat the previous record of July 1998.

The average temperature of the oceans and mainland registered in July, in particular, was the highest since there is this kind of survey, ie since 1880, according to data from NOAA and dell’Ncdc (the National Center for Environmental Information).

Regarding in particular the mainland alone, the global average temperature in July was 0.96 degrees higher than the average of the twentieth century: it is the sixth month of July warmest on record. The average temperature of the oceans, however, it was higher than 0.75 degrees, recording the highest ever recorded in the period.

The NOAA also stressed that the average extent of Arctic glaciers in July was 9.5% in less than the average of the period between 1981 and 2010. As for the Antarctic, however, the decrease was 3.8%.

So, if the 2014 as a whole was was the warmest year since 1891 according to the Japanese weather agency, now comes the July hotter over the last 135 years.
