The latest report of the Clusit reveals a worrying growth of the crimes committed via the Internet.
Since 2000, the Clusit – Italian Association for Information Security – keeps track of the situation of the Network Italian as regards safety.
During the month the information security field, which is celebrated with meetings and events organized in each country, the Clusit has released the 2014 edition of the Report on ICT security in Italy, which shows a bleak landscape .
The so-called Cybercrime – computer crime – in fact, increased dramatically in recent years, so that all the attacks carried out in the first six months of 2014 than properly “criminals” constitute 60% of the total.
In 2013, cyber-crime constituted 36% of all attacks conducted on the Internet, which means that crime is increasingly adopting the technology to power their trades, whether the theft of personal data, trafficking in child pornography or violation of public information systems.
A be targeted are in fact government networks (in 26% of cases), cloud services, and social networks (12% of cases).
A worry about the Clusit then there is also the phenomenon of hacktivism, a word formed from the merger of the terms hacking and activism (activism), and that for the Association indicates ‘antagonistic groups of various kinds which carry out disruptive activities on the web “: their activity amounted to 29% of the detected attacks.
The official presentation of the report is scheduled for today, on the occasion of Verona Security Summit, an event that falls within the calendar month of European security.
