Apple’s new iPad and Mac October 16 – La Stampa

If you were to buy a new iPad or a Mac, perhaps it is better to postpone for a few weeks. It has long been rumored that Apple was planning an event on Oct. 21 to present the new tablet, but according to the website of the Information Technology Re / Code, always well informed about innovations in Silicon Valley, the next date to mark on your calendar Thursday would instead October 16. According to the rumors could be presented a new version of the iPad during an event at the Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino headquarters. According to the sources (of course anonymous) “will be a thing quieter” than the launch of the latest iPhone and the Apple Watch.

Should I expect renewals to the current line, with mini iPad and iPad 2 updated to Air A8 processor of the iPhone (perhaps in a slightly faster), and the adoption of Touch id that reads fingerprints digital. Many also think that the event may be the occasion to launch a third iPad model (probably called “Pro”) with larger screen, maybe 12.9 inches. This third model, primarily aimed at the market of schools and professionals, however, may reach the market only in 2015, when the app will be available and optimized for the larger screen, and new versions of the Mini and the Air should be on sale shortly after the presentation. News for the colors available, which should be the same as the iPhone: white / silver, gray sidereal and an unprecedented (for iPad) white / gold.

Very likely also the presentation of new Mac: expect tweaks to the current iMac, which could have a Retina display and a more powerful processor, such as the Mac Mini, which over the last two years has never been up to date. Here, the change could be more radical, and even include a redesign of the exterior case, as well as a new chip and a solid state hard drive. For laptops the most anticipated news is a MacBook Air 12-inch retina screen, a sort of hybrid between the two existing lines, the Air and Pro, but with a new design and a processor particularly efficient from the point of view of energy consumption, which should not need an internal fan. Intel announced it, but it is said that Apple is able to provide the required amount for a big launch, so that could be deferred to 2015

Always wait for October is the final version of the new Os X operating system, dubbed Yosemite will be installed by default on new machines, and available as a free update for all others (those compatible at least).
