Alert Cybercrime in 2014 represents 60% of the attacks … – The Republic

More numerous and damaging in terms of the economic value of the stolen data: cyber attacks “serious public domain” increased significantly. Among the most significant phenomena that emerged during the first six months of 2014 there is a steady increase in the Cybercrime, which now accounts for 60% of the attacks analyzed (it was 36% in 2011). At the expense is mainly the government sector (26%), cloud services and social networks (12%).

The notes to the Report Clusit 2014 on cybersecurity, which outlines a worrying situation at the global level, in the month of European security. In addition to the Cybercrime among the most significant phenomena emerged during the first six months of 2014, there is the growth of the phenomenon of ‘”hacktivism” (29%), that is “antagonistic groups of various kinds which carry out disruptive activities on the web”, increasing extraction of non-Western. The report comes just Clusit 2014 in the month of computer security, the European Union supported a campaign in all 27 member countries, held throughout October, to promote more of the public aware of the threats and ways to tackle them. The report Clusit has been prepared by a team of Italian experts. Will be presented tomorrow at the Security Summit of Verona, an event organized by the Agency ENISA European cyber security, with support for Italy’s Clusit.
