Facebook improves privacy information: “The control is in your hands” – The Republic

PROTECTION of sensitive data before everything, or almost everything. The policy of Facebook is a step forward in the matter and in view of Data Privacy Day (28 January) launches a series of new media in aid to the users. There are 32 interactive guides in 44 languages to inform the members about the management of personal information, in addition to the new functions dedicated to the voice basic Information privacy.

Facebook explains that it is “making these improvements on the occasion of Data Privacy Day”, and emphasizes collaboration with experts in privacy and organizations around the world such as the National Cyber Security Alliance, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Center for Democracy and Technology, which work to spread and increase awareness of how to manage personal information online.”

On the occasion of the update of the website privacy policy, Facebook reminds users some tips to stay safe when you share content on the social network, including activation of access permissions to the profile and the selection of friends who see what you publish.
