GrowITup, innovation promotes innovation and does so with young people – BBC

MILAN – A bridge linking the key industries of the Made in Italy to the most promising startups. From Milan kicks off growITup, a project promoted by the Cariplo Foundation and Microsoft with the objective to promote innovation by giving “trust, hope and a future to young people.”

GrowITup is an initiative linked to the Cariplo Factory , “an example of how – said the chairman Giuseppe Guzzetti – modern philanthropy today is an important part of a system that aims at the development, to the growth of the country and to provide answers to the problem of youth unemployment with an innovative model alongside companies . “

the goal is to generate 10,000 employment opportunities for young people with a total investment of 10 million Euros in 3 years. “In this country – we continued Guzzetti – we are lucky to have millions of trained young, active, determined. But they need to have the ability to translate into reality their dreams “.

There are seven industrial sectors involved : food, fashion and design, manufacturing, energy, financed services, tourism and entertainment, health and well being. In short, all areas that best represent the Italian excellence, as well as great opportunities for development and inclusion.

Microsoft Italy will participate in growITup with the aim of helping to create a fertile environment for young people where to produce innovation. Major protagonists will be the startup who will now have “an opportunity to increase their sustainability by drawing on the most significant funding for international growth,” said Carlo Purassanta, Director managing Microsoft Italy. But it will be an opportunity also for the largest companies in the country , “which will benefit from the creativity of the best innovative companies able to reinterpret models of business and market segments.”

“the ambitious goal – he added – is to characterize Italian and foreign investment to the startup of our country amounting to one billion Euros by 2020″.
