Facebook today launches group video calls on Messenger – The Republic

A FEW days before Christmas, Facebook launched the ability to make group video calls via Messenger. Starting from today, so six people can be in visual contact. No problem if the group were to be more numerous because other friends can intervene via voice (up to a total of 50 people). The new service, launched all over the world, will be available for Android and iOS devices and for the desktop version of Messenger.

This writes the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg, “is the time of year just to tell friends and family how much we care about them and send our best wishes for the new year. We are happy to give the possibility to our users to talk face-to-face with the people most important to them, wherever they are. More and more people use group messages for a variety of reasons, such as to keep all up to date, schedule a family vacation, or simply share a few jokes. Every month, 245 million people, making video calls with the Messenger, now we give all users the possibility to turn the group chat in conversations face-to-face regardless of where they are – down the street or on the other side of the world”.

Make group video calls on Messenger is simple (and of course free Wi-Fi). To begin with, the user will need the latest version of Messenger. All you have to do is get into a conversation of the existing group, or create a new one. Next you’ll need to click on the video icon in the top right of the screen to access the call and all the users in the group will receive a notification. Every person can join the video call when it is ready with a simple click. To call further attention of the members of the chat, it is also possible to call the entire group or some of its components.
