Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: autonomy in decline after the update to Android Nougat – FocusTECH

The rollout of Android Nougat for Samsung Galaxy S7 Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is now started. The update will arrive in Italy in a complete way, in the course of the month of February with all of the variations, No Brand and branded, that will receive the update via OTA in the next few weeks.

meanwhile, the first tests on the firmware ultimate Android Nougat released by Samsung for its Galaxy S7 Edge show a decline of autonomy provided by the battery 3,600 mAh battery built into the casing of the smartphone Korean. The tests in question were performed by GSMArena, one of the international sources, the most authoritative and independent as far as the world of mobile telephony, on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in the international version with Exynos Socs 8890 (with hardware identical to the model sold in Italy).

The results on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android Nougat show a decrease of 22% with regard to the autonomy in navigating the Internet with Wi-Fi connectivity active compared to the test performed with the S7 Edge, and the operating system Android Marshmallow. autonomy remains higher than in the variant of the Samsung smartphone with SoC Snapdragon 820 and operating system Android Marshmallow.

evident Decrease (-25%), also with regard to the autonomy in video playback for the Galaxy S7 Edge with the step to Android Nougat. Note, however, a slight improvement (a little more than 5%) of the autonomy during a call in 3G. In essence, we are faced with results instead of negative. The decline of autonomy in web browsing and the playback is clear and marked in the transition from Marshmallows to Nougat and may give some problem to the users.

it is clear that we are faced with a version still not perfect and the final firmware and Samsung may make various improvements in the course of the next few weeks in order to restore the values of autonomy that characterize the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android Marshmallow.
