Pokemon Go has lost 15 million users.
‘ Nintendo app and Niantic is deflating with the same speed with which had come to success. Pokemon Go had in fact reached 100 million users in just a week after the launch. And in mid-July daily active users had become 45 million. Figures never recorded before by any app.
In the last month, however, 15 million users abandoned the app. Too much to be defined as a physiological decline. It is at least the lack of interest (if not escape). Let me be clear: the Pokemon Go numbers are impressive, thanks to the 30 million daily active users. But the big fever seems past.
Niantic, developer of the game, aims to rekindle the success with new features and updates, to make the hunt more complicated and varied. And above all focuses on the launch in new markets. The landing in large countries such as Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, France would not, however, produced the desired effects. Which means that, in all likelihood, the decline in the countries where the success has been more consistent (US, Japan, parts of Europe) is even more pronounced than the numbers say.
Pokemon Go , because of the supply chain (from Niantic Pokemon Corp ), had not had the desired effect on the quarter of Nintendo. And now it may also evaporate the desired collections of the current quarter. Explain decline so sharply is not simple. Also because the causes are never unique. There is the repetitiveness of the game. Or the need to physically move, which makes Pokemon Go wasteful from the standpoint of time. It remains to wait for the effect of upgrades and countermoves of Niantic. Because now we play another game until now marginally: that of the points of interest sponsored.
