The language emoji is expanding once again: the Unicode Consortium approved 74 new emoticons to be entered in Unicode 9.0 , the new version of the ‘universal language’ that should be launched half 2016 .
Some of the new emoji include fingers crossed, shrug, clowns, pregnant women and arms that make selfie. Among the new emoji will serve to represent some new food , like bacon, avocado, carrot, cucumber and a croissant. Others represent character as a king or a queen with the crown abuts. Unicode 9.0 then expand the Animal Kingdom , introducing emoji for the owl, fox, duck, hawk, the gorilla, the bat.
That’s most of the new emoji coming in 2016:
According to current statistics, there are at least six billion emoticons that are sent daily by at least two billion users. The emoji are not only used on the smartphone via SMS or WhatsApp but increasingly ‘email clients begin to integrate them, and serve to better express a concept or to emphasize a state of mind, but also to fully replace words in messages. There are users who communicate for 90% even with emoji. It is not a surprise that the Oxford Dictionaries announced last year that his ‘Word of the Year’ or ‘the word of the year’ is not a word but a real emoji, specifically the “smiley with tears of joy. “
The new 74 emoji to be introduced in the course of 2016 have been selected after a series of investigations to find those that are the words most ‘written that could easily be replaced by a ‘icon, but it was also analyzed the compatibility of the most’ platforms.
It should be noted that the list is not final and may change before the official release of Unicode 9.0.
These new emoji might become available on the iPhone when Apple will release iOS 10 in the month of September, as well as in the next version of Android.
