New spacewalk to Wilmore Virts and with the assistance of … – The Messenger

Samantha Cristoforetti as always in support before, during and after the mission, American astronauts Barry Wilmore, commander, and Terry Virts, flight engineer, are ready to second spacewalk.
The complex program of maintenance and updating of the international station will be underway by the 13 to 21 Italian .

A grueling effort, told the same Luke Parmitano because the astronauts have to perform operations from the mechanical precision with gloves and coveralls that severely limit the movements. “And ‘how to tighten and release for eight hours with his hands a tennis ball,” said Astroluca. Not to mention the changes in temperature: from minus 120 degrees to plus 100 degrees depending on exposure to the sun, with a cycle of 90 minutes from night and day because the ISS, traveling at 28,800 miles per hour, it takes so much to make a ‘full orbit 400 km above the Earth.

In short, anything but a walk that technically it has a name much less fascinating: “extra vehicular activity” even ennobled by the acronym “Eva”. Each astronaut, however, said however the wonder child of seeing it scroll underfoot Earth without even the protection of the space station during the three walks of Wilmore and Virts and the following will be prepared to allow the docking of new ships American. Remember that since the space shuttle is retired only the Russian Soyuz allows the comings and goings of the astronauts.

During connection there may be black out (actually seen the color blue out more frequently the “CRT”) because the signal can fall when the station is “covered” by the Earth. Blackout solved sometimes with long shots from the control room at NASA.
